More tips:
- The closest I could find on Amazon to the watercolour set I use is the Sakura brand of Koi Assorted WaterColours Field Set.
- Just use any old toothbrush. I used to use the ones that my dentist would give me after a visit, just because those were kind of cheap and I wouldn’t actually use them anyways.
- I use acrylic for flicking and highlights because watercolour-whites tend to fade when they dry.
- Also, remember to keep your hands clean, because nothing’s worse than smudging graphite into your watercolours and then unable to get it out.
- Try to avoid black and white when possible. They tend to dull the colours and it loses that watercolouring lustre.
Since I started watercolouring again for my daily sketches, I’ve gotten a lot of asks/dA notes on if I could give a tutorial on watercolouring and also more specific questions that overlapped each other, so I decided to do a semi guide/tips/answering thing.
I actually started watercolouring before I went into digital medium, so I have a bit of personal experience, but I am essentially self-taught when it comes to watercolouring since there weren’t a lot of watercolour tutorials online back then to begin with, so I cannot promise that these are the absolute correct way of doing things.

Let’s face it: your NPCs probably suck.Mine did, and often do. Gaming’s special this way. There’s isn’t any other pursuit that demands you invent potentially dozens of characters a night. Novelists, screenwriters, dramaturges all struggle with character….
for future reference. This is the simplist I have seen NPCs explained. Awesome.

“What worries me about Yahoo! buying Tumblr is how it would choose to incorporate the website into its email and homepage features. One of the reasons why Tumblr is so unique is because it’s a niche market. By adding more users who don’t fit into this niche, it would make it more difficult for communities to develop within Tumblr, and Tumblr would have to change to accommodate these new users. Tumblr as a website is not the kind that you can sign up for in a day and be on your way. It is a website crafted so that you can immediately post but must spend several weeks, sometimes even months, to build a community. With new users who would not be willing to spend time growing a community, Tumblr would have to be changed, which would alienate its current users. No one is going to mind Yahoo! buying the website and gaining a few extra million dollars per year from the minimal advertising; what we will be upset with is if a company like Yahoo! then changes the website to increase casual users and decrease dedicated users. Yahoo! would gain nothing by losing this “cool” group of bloggers in an age group they so desperately want to reach, so they must cater to these individuals by leaving the website exactly as is.” - houseoftombombadil
As much as is does sound like a load of bullshit for someone to buy Tumblr, it’s a possibility. I Personally think it should stay independent and I hope David Karp keeps a hold of it like his own child. Or we make enough noise to where such major changes (if bought) will not happen. I would hate to see Tumblr turned into an advertising dump.
We’re not a ‘hip fad group’ to be marketed to. I hate the fact that’s all we look like to businesses in the end.

I was in Sweden on a tour bus. We stop at a resort, when someone tells me robberies happen in the jewlery store all the time. If one happens, be sure to grab a jewel because nobody will notice. I go in the store, when sure enough, a lone bandit was holding up the place. A spark of good Samaritan kicks in and I tackle the guy. We fall on one of the display cases. It shatters, spilling jewels everywhere. The store owner, a frail old lady, is thankful. The cops never quite arrive. I help clean up, secretly pocketing a large red diamond and a small clear one. /dream
I made Journey cubies!! Those square avatars from icongenerator.net gave me the idea and I used their little pattern thing for the cube for these. So major credit to them! I don’t claim the cube pattern or base image!!
However! I did spend some time putting their little cloak embroidery on for all stages of completion including the white cloak! Also had to add the headband and chinstrap (white only). Not a whole lot of work, but a tad tedious.
Now you can have little Journey cubies!! Yay!
